Pelynt Neighbourhood Development Plan

Link to the adopted plan June 2025

This website has been set up by a voluntary group to keep the Plan projects in the public domain.

Ancient Woodland

Hidden trails on private land currently being restored with extreme care as the ecology is almost unique to the UK. The owners want help to open it up to eco-sensitive walkers. The land is being farmed so no dogs.

Public right of way

A challenging walk or cycle ride in beautiful dog friendly surroundings.  Leads to a stream and rustic picnic table. The access route is a public right of way but is being destroyed by 4wd vehicles plus motocross bikes and needs protecting.

Leave your car at home

Pelynt is a small parish with many footpaths, quiet roads and wild trails through woodland. There is even a bridleway that stumbles to the West Looe River with further footpaths and trails over the West Looe river leading to long distance cycle routes.

Please note the plan download is not phone friendly.

The plan concludes with future projects for the Parish Council to consider. See pages 65-66. The Greenway Plan is a voluntary initiative. Please email your interest to Paul Wright for an information pack.

Action for footpaths

Pelynt has many footpaths including some designated ‘Gold Standard’ by Cornwall Council. Many footpaths are in a shocking state including partial blockage thanks to years of neglect. CC have delegated responsibility to land owners and the Parish Council. The Greenway Plan is a starting point to try and improve signage and access.
